Minae Yamamoto Savas, Professor of Japanese Studies, Department of Global Languages and Literatures, has been a faculty member at ÇÑ×ÓÊÓƵ¹ÙÍø since 2008. She teaches courses on Japanese language and culture, among other topics related to Japanese Studies. She received her Ph.D. in East Asian Languages and Literatures from The Ohio State University. Prior to joining BSU, she taught at Colgate University and Hamilton College. She also taught Japanese in the Summer Immersion Program at Middlebury College. She has been an Associate in Research at Reischauer Institute of Japanese Studies at Harvard University since 2008. Her research interests lie in the dynamic nature of classical Japanese theater that comes together as negotiations between forces and perspectives in the political, cultural, and aesthetic realms.
