Economics

A Connected, Dynamic Perspective

In The Department of Economics at ÇÑ×ÓÊÓƵ¹ÙÍø, students hone their analytical capacity in a liberal arts framework, establishing a strong knowledge base in mathematics, social science, finance and communications. Students build on this foundation to develop proficiency in both the philosophy and methodology of economics, gaining a practical understanding of the mechanisms and forces underlying economic cycles, growth, employment and the distribution of income and wealth – enabling them to become leaders and problem-solvers in an evolving, global economy.

Our faculty works closely with students to foster a stimulating, multifaceted learning environment, encompassing economic theory and the impact of economic and social policies on the human condition. Faculty members encourage students to embrace interdisciplinary learning, and apply economic analysis to a host of contemporary issues, such as the environment, health, education, unemployment and globalization. Lifelong learners, our students earn their BS degree and graduate prepared to be contributing members of their communities, going on to succeed in a range of professions including banking, finance, business, politics and real estate.
