Darcy Boellstorff joined the faculty of ÇÑ×ÓÊÓƵ¹ÙÍø in the fall of 2005 after receiving her doctorate from the University of Nebraska. She has worked in state and federal government and is a certified GIS Professional (GISP). Dr. Boellstorff has been serving as department chair since 2017 and is on the board of directors of the GIS Certification Institute, representing the American Association of Geographers. Dr. Boellstorff is licensed as a Remote Pilot (UAS) with the FAA, and has a Level I Infrared Thermography certification from FLIR that is useful in teaching about applications of remotely sensed imagery and use of unmanned aerial systems (UAS). Her teaching and research interests are in geospatial science, monitoring land change and human-environmental issues. She is passionate about helping spread awareness of geospatial science, its applications and education curriculum.
